Project Description
With both of our company’s roots being from Knoll International, we have had a long standing relationship with the 1966 Collection. Although designed in 1966, we have continuously worked to improve the product and assist Richard Schultz with new product concepts. One of the most challenging parts of our work with Richard Schultz was the 3D CAD modeling of the free-form sculpted shapes. We utilized both 3D scanning technology and Solidworks surfacing to successfully add products to the line that looked like they had been created in 1966 as part of the original line.
In terms of new product development, we assisted Richard Schultz with the additions of the rocker, loveseat, and bar cart to the 1966 Collection. We also provided sourcing and production support to the collection to improve product quality and reduce production costs.
